So Jacob went near to Isaac his father, who felt him and said, The voice is Jacobs voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. (Gén 27:23)  -  1 / 80.

And he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esaus hands. So he blessed him. (Gén 27:24)  -  2 / 80.

He said, Are you really my son Esau? He answered, I am. (Gén 27:25)  -  3 / 80.

Then he said, Bring it near to me, that I may eat of my sons game and bless you. So he brought it near to him, and he ate; and he brought him wine, and he drank. (Gén 27:26)  -  4 / 80.

Then his father Isaac said to him, Come near and kiss me, my son. (Gén 27:27)  -  5 / 80.

So he came near and kissed him. And Isaac smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field that the LORD has blessed! (Gén 27:28)  -  6 / 80.

May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine. (Gén 27:29)  -  7 / 80.

Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may your mothers sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you! (Gén 27:30)  -  8 / 80.

As soon as Isaac had finished blessing Jacob, when Jacob had scarcely gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, Esau his brother came in from his hunting. (Gén 27:31)  -  9 / 80.

He also prepared delicious food and brought it to his father. And he said to his father, Let my father arise and eat of his sons game, that you may bless me. (Gén 27:32)  -  10 / 80.

His father Isaac said to him, Who are you? He answered, I am your son, your firstborn, Esau. (Gén 27:33)  -  11 / 80.

Then Isaac trembled very violently and said, Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me, and I ate it all before you came, and I have blessed him? Yes, and he shall be blessed. (Gén 27:34)  -  12 / 80.

As soon as Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out with an exceedingly great and bitter cry and said to his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father! (Gén 27:35)  -  13 / 80.

But he said, Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing. (Gén 27:36)  -  14 / 80.

Esau said, Is he not rightly named Jacob?[1] For he has cheated me these two times. He took away my birthright, and behold, now he has taken away my blessing. Then he said, Have you not reserved a blessing for me? (Gén 27:37)  -  15 / 80.

Isaac answered and said to Esau, Behold, I have made him lord over you, and all his brothers I have given to him for servants, and with grain and wine I have sustained him. What then can I do for you, my son? (Gén 27:38)  -  16 / 80.

Esau said to his father, Have you but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice and wept. (Gén 27:39)  -  17 / 80.

Then Isaac his father answered and said to him: Behold, away from the fatness of the earth shall your dwelling be, and away from the dew of heaven on high. (Gén 27:40)  -  18 / 80.

By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but when you grow restless you shall break his yoke from your neck. (Gén 27:41)  -  19 / 80.

Now Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said to himself, The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob. (Gén 27:42)  -  20 / 80.

But the words of Esau her older son were told to Rebekah. So she sent and called Jacob her younger son and said to him, Behold, your brother Esau comforts himself about you by planning to kill you. (Gén 27:43)  -  21 / 80.

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice. Arise, flee to Laban my brother in Haran (Gén 27:44)  -  22 / 80.

and stay with him a while, until your brothers fury turns away -- (Gén 27:45)  -  23 / 80.

until your brothers anger turns away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him. Then I will send and bring you from there. Why should I be bereft of you both in one day? (Gén 27:46)  -  24 / 80.

Then Rebekah said to Isaac, I loathe my life because of the Hittite women. If Jacob marries one of the Hittite women like these, one of the women of the land, what good will my life be to me? (Gén 28:1)  -  25 / 80.

Then Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and directed him, You must not take a wife from the Canaanite women. (Gén 28:2)  -  26 / 80.

Arise, go to Paddan-aram to the house of Bethuel your mothers father, and take as your wife from there one of the daughters of Laban your mothers brother. (Gén 28:3)  -  27 / 80.

God Almighty[1] bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a company of peoples. (Gén 28:4)  -  28 / 80.

May he give the blessing of Abraham to you and to your offspring with you, that you may take possession of the land of your sojournings that God gave to Abraham! (Gén 28:5)  -  29 / 80.

Thus Isaac sent Jacob away. And he went to Paddan-aram, to Laban, the son of Bethuel the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, Jacobs and Esaus mother. (Gén 28:6)  -  30 / 80.

Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan-aram to take a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he directed him, You must not take a wife from the Canaanite women, (Gén 28:7)  -  31 / 80.

and that Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother and gone to Paddan-aram. (Gén 28:8)  -  32 / 80.

So when Esau saw that the Canaanite women did not please Isaac his father, (Gén 28:9)  -  33 / 80.

Esau went to Ishmael and took as his wife, besides the wives he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abrahams son, the sister of Nebaioth. (Gén 28:10)  -  34 / 80.

Jacob left Beersheba and went toward Haran. (Gén 28:11)  -  35 / 80.

And he came to a certain place and stayed there that night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep. (Gén 28:12)  -  36 / 80.

And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it! (Gén 28:13)  -  37 / 80.

And behold, the LORD stood above it and said, I am the LORD, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring. (Gén 28:14)  -  38 / 80.

Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed. (Gén 28:15)  -  39 / 80.

Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. (Gén 28:16)  -  40 / 80.

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it. (Gén 28:17)  -  41 / 80.

And he was afraid and said, How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. (Gén 28:18)  -  42 / 80.

So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it. (Gén 28:19)  -  43 / 80.

He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first. (Gén 28:20)  -  44 / 80.

Then Jacob made a vow, saying, If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, (Gén 28:21)  -  45 / 80.

so that I come again to my fathers house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God, (Gén 28:22)  -  46 / 80.

and this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be Gods house. And of all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you. (Gén 29:1)  -  47 / 80.

Then Jacob went on his journey and came to the land of the people of the east. (Gén 29:2)  -  48 / 80.

As he looked, he saw a well in the field, and behold, three flocks of sheep lying beside it, for out of that well the flocks were watered. The stone on the wells mouth was large, (Gén 29:3)  -  49 / 80.

and when all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone from the mouth of the well and water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place over the mouth of the well. (Gén 29:4)  -  50 / 80.

Jacob said to them, My brothers, where do you come from? They said, We are from Haran. (Gén 29:5)  -  51 / 80.

He said to them, Do you know Laban the son of Nahor? They said, We know him. (Gén 29:6)  -  52 / 80.

He said to them, Is it well with him? They said, It is well; and see, Rachel his daughter is coming with the sheep! (Gén 29:7)  -  53 / 80.

He said, Behold, it is still high day; it is not time for the livestock to be gathered together. Water the sheep and go, pasture them. (Gén 29:8)  -  54 / 80.

But they said, We cannot until all the flocks are gathered together and the stone is rolled from the mouth of the well; then we water the sheep. (Gén 29:9)  -  55 / 80.

While he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her fathers sheep, for she was a shepherdess. (Gén 29:10)  -  56 / 80.

Now as soon as Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mothers brother, and the sheep of Laban his mothers brother, Jacob came near and rolled the stone from the wells mouth and watered the flock of Laban his mothers brother. (Gén 29:11)  -  57 / 80.

Then Jacob kissed Rachel and wept aloud. (Gén 29:12)  -  58 / 80.

And Jacob told Rachel that he was her fathers kinsman, and that he was Rebekahs son, and she ran and told her father. (Gén 29:13)  -  59 / 80.

As soon as Laban heard the news about Jacob, his sisters son, he ran to meet him and embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his house. Jacob told Laban all these things, (Gén 29:14)  -  60 / 80.

and Laban said to him, Surely you are my bone and my flesh! And he stayed with him a month. (Gén 29:15)  -  61 / 80.

Then Laban said to Jacob, Because you are my kinsman, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what shall your wages be? (Gén 29:16)  -  62 / 80.

Now Laban had two daughters. The name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. (Gén 29:17)  -  63 / 80.

Leahs eyes were weak,[1] but Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance. (Gén 29:18)  -  64 / 80.

Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel. (Gén 29:19)  -  65 / 80.

Laban said, It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to any other man; stay with me. (Gén 29:20)  -  66 / 80.

So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her. (Gén 29:21)  -  67 / 80.

Then Jacob said to Laban, Give me my wife that I may go in to her, for my time is completed. (Gén 29:22)  -  68 / 80.

So Laban gathered together all the people of the place and made a feast. (Gén 29:23)  -  69 / 80.

But in the evening he took his daughter Leah and brought her to Jacob, and he went in to her. (Gén 29:24)  -  70 / 80.

(Laban gave his female servant Zilpah to his daughter Leah to be her servant.) (Gén 29:25)  -  71 / 80.

And in the morning, behold, it was Leah! And Jacob said to Laban, What is this you have done to me? Did I not serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me? (Gén 29:26)  -  72 / 80.

Laban said, It is not so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. (Gén 29:27)  -  73 / 80.

Complete the week of this one, and we will give you the other also in return for serving me another seven years. (Gén 29:28)  -  74 / 80.

Jacob did so, and completed her week. Then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife. (Gén 29:29)  -  75 / 80.

(Laban gave his female servant Bilhah to his daughter Rachel to be her servant.) (Gén 29:30)  -  76 / 80.

So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah, and served Laban for another seven years. (Gén 29:31)  -  77 / 80.

When the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren. (Gén 29:32)  -  78 / 80.

And Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben, for she said, Because the LORD has looked upon my affliction; for now my husband will love me. (Gén 29:33)  -  79 / 80.

She conceived again and bore a son, and said, Because the LORD has heard that I am hated, he has given me this son also. And she called his name Simeon. (Gén 29:34)  -  80 / 80.
